dance as ancestral veneration
Dancing in the mirror today and my face starts to change shape
At first, it’s a flicker of my aunts face
Our likeness, undeniable
Then my maternal grandmothers face, then my mother, then my sister
The faces start to shuffle, really fast
So many ancestors
ancestors orbiting around infinity
My unborn child, full of life
Our entire lineage, every conscious being that came before me
Death has legs intertwined with seeds,
The smell of humus excites my most primal self, tongue coated with a life-giving wetness,
Expand in every direction, my dear
and so we move as One-
One inhale of cosmic dust,
One joyous laugh, that rings out as a prism of light,
One as light,
as everything,
above and below,
Heaven and earth united in your pelvic floor
I lay my body on the ground and dance to the pulse of mycelial root network communication
